Propaq Vital Signs Monitor
The Propaq is a portable rechargeable and robust vital signs monitor that is used to monitor basic physiological parameters on all patients carried by the RFDS (Western Operations). It can also be plugged into the power supply in the aircraft. We use two models with different configurations.
Our basic model enables the following parameters to be monitored in flight:
- Heart rate
- Blood pressure – non-invasive
- Blood pressure - invasive
- Oxygen saturation
- ECG - three leads
- Respiratory rate
We have one basic model on all aircraft which is used for monitoring patients in the second stretcher berth and to provide redundancy with basic monitoring when transporting the critically ill.
Our larger Propaq models have additional parameters including End-tidal CO2 (capnometry), additional Invasive Pressure channels and an integral Printer.
