Jandakot Airport is located in the southern Perth metropolitan area and is Perth’s general aviation airport.  The airport is known as one of the busiest in Australia, in terms of aircraft movements.  It is popular amongst local, interstate and overseas pilots as an ideal training setting. 

The RFDS (Western Operations) headquarters are located at Jandakot Airport along with its operations coordination centre, aircraft engineering maintenance facility and patient transfer facilities. The original base was constructed in 1977 and the hangar acquired in the early 1960's.

Funding has been allocated for a $4.2 million upgrade to the Jandakot operational base and adjoining patient transfer hangar.
